Successful Captive Breeding

In “Recovery team brings spotted frog back from brink of extinction,” the author introduces the fact that an extremely imperiled Oregon spotted frog was bred successfully by a recovery team in British Columbia’s Fraser Valley region, and adds information about the frog’s characteristics. The team has tried to raise the Oregon spotted frog since 2002; for example, incubating frogs, being concerned about its habitat, and letting the grown frog independently survive. The author points out that the Oregon spotted frog has a dangerous situation now. For instance, the Oregon spotted frog has a short period of dispersion, has a sensitive life condition, and has become the prey of the other species of frogs. Therefore, the Oregon spotted frog’s captive breeding is continued hard working for the team, who are also the pioneers in this field who educate students to have a vision for the frogs.

I realized the amphibian’s own danger because of this article. In this paper, I suggest the benefits of captive breeding. Successful captive breeding can sustain an ecosystem, make humans aware of environmental importance, and bring economic power.

First, captive breeding can rescue the endangered amphibians. The value of environment is important for humans on earth. Most living things have a role in the ecosystem, even if particular species of amphibians should live together with other animals and humans. For example, people already know the amphibians’ duties as part of food chain and as a purifier of an ecosystem. Basic environmental preservation influences increase various species, make better humans’ lives, and keep sustainable surroundings. For example, humans might improve their health and recognize the dignity of creatures. Therefore, endangered amphibians need methods of captive breeding for their living that affect humans’ lives.

Second, successful captive breeding enable to educate to children how to reserve the endangered species. When people have experience in their young ages, they can learn better practices throughout their lives. For example, children learn about the critical situation of amphibians and about captive breeding for those endangered amphibians, they will be aware of environmental issue and begin to think about the ways they can do at home. It is true that captive breeding requires lots of time, money, and devotion. By having children observe the hard process, they will be able to realize how hard to protect and balance the environment. Therefore, through this hard method, captive breeding can give people sound mind from their young ages on.

Finally, research into methods for amphibians’ survival occurs in competition with other countries. Technology of captive breeding can improve one’s own country’s technical skill. For example, captive breeding requires scientific research, sensitive condition of habitat, and a long period for amphibian’s existence. It is reasonable to extend the successful story of captive breeding into utilization of medical area. For example, technology from captive breeding can be applied in medical life science for humans, which possibly lead the country’s power as a result of advanced technology. Therefore, powerful skills of captive breeding can bring profit to a county.

In conclusion, our ecosystem includes a lot of creatures. Several species of amphibians face a dangerous situation. People should find a method for endangered amphibians like captive breeding. Captive breeding helps to prevent extermination of amphibians and to keep their habitat, educational effects for children, and builds national power. People should be concerned about extinction of amphibians and reserve a good environment for their generation.

To Keep Environment for Amphibians

In “Major Initiative Proposed to Address Amphibian Crisis,” the author emphasizes that recently amphibians are faced with critical situations, so people need to study for protection of amphibians’ survival. According to the article, amphibians have a very long history in spite of their weak disposition. Amphibians have an important part among the ecosystems; their duties affect ecological balances. The leaders in this filed analyzed the fact that amphibians have diminished in their population and lots of other species vanished. The researchers pose causes such as ozone depletion, environment pollution, and appearance of new diseases. Therefore, not only individual people but also global countries lead the appropriate projects and practical new environmental laws, to keep the amphibians.

I agree with this article. This article reminds me of environmental problems, because amphibians are closely connected with others’ lives. Amphibians’ reduction can cause the breakdown of an ecosystem. Ecological balances are very important for humans and animals. Also, amphibians can play a role in economy of agriculture.

Amphibians can reduce the harm of insects for humans. Harmful insects diminish full growth plants’ amounts. For example, harmful insects nibble away at the crops and amphibians usually eat this kind of harmful insects. Also, decreasing of amphibians can affect humans’ health. For example, farmers will use pesticides more than before because they want to kill harmful insects for their plants. Therefore, people must need amphibians’ existence for their crops.

Amphibians can play a role in the ecosystem for other animals. Stronger animals usually capture amphibians in the forest. For example, one kind of wild animals needs to eat amphibians. So amphibians are interrelated in food chains of ecosystems. For example, amphibians eat insects and mostly larger animals eat amphibians. Therefore, amphibians’ roles occupy an important position in the forest.

Amphibians can affect agriculture. Farmers might be achieving higher rates of their harvest because of amphibians. Increasing amphibians can allow them to anticipate a rich year. Also, enough amphibians are useful for various large animals. Amphibians become the prey of the domestic animals. These will make profits for farmers. Therefore, rich farmers might advance the agricultural economy in their countries.

In conclusion, amphibians are closely related animals for humans. Amphibians perform the duties in human life, animal subsistence, and farming. Amphibians’ reduction and extinction both are very serious problems for the global ecosystems. People should require a great deal of effort in order to keep amphibians sound and stable for their environment.
